Monthly Newsletter Creation Process

We have a systematic process setup, which lives inside of a Basecamp project. Each month a new project is created with a to-do list of items to be carried out at specific times of the month such as, a mid-month call for content or assigning the display priority of events.

I'll then code and upload the newsletter into MailChimp . We have an approval process in place where I send out a test email so we can have multiple eyes look over it before I schedule it out to be sent at times where we believe we'll receive the largest amount of engagement from our members.

Subject Line A/B Testing

In an attempt to increase engagement rates, we conducted A/B tests with our subject lines over a 4-month period (December 2015 – March 2016.) From this data, we found subtle variations among the averages of our three test groups, with a slight but definitive victor.

2015 Redesign

Upon joining the Jacksonville Chapter Board in 2014, I was tasked with updating the monthly communications newsletter. The redesign brought forth a single-column modular layout, full-width images, bold new accent colors, and a vast reduction of text. The newsletter acted more as inspiration and a friendly upcoming event reminder directing the audience to the website where they can find full event details.
